Welcome to the FEBio Forum. This forum serves the community of FEBio and FEBio Studio users and developers. Forum participants are encouraged to post questions, as well as answer posts from others. A broad level of participation is encouraged, to create a vibrant community that helps improve the quality and usefulness of these open-source/free software products. Moderators are here to assist with explaining novel features, addressing bug reports and reviewing feature requests, but the effectiveness of the forum depends critically on the participation of experienced users who can assist novices or share ideas and models that explore challenging problems. Could you explain the meaning of spring force for nonlinear spring in preview?
I know that the nonlinear spring will be defined by the loadcurve that will be used for the force-displacement relation.
However, I don't know the meaning of the spring force in the preview?
In previous versions of FEBio, this parameter scaled the load curve. However, in FEBio3, nonlinear springs are defined differently. There is currently a fix in place for backward compatibility, but it ignores this values and only looks at the load curve. I'll see if I can address that, but in the meantime, I recommend that for nonlinear springs, leave the force parameter to one, and only use the load curve for setting the force-displacement curve. Let us know if you experience issue with this feature.
