    Question about defining the fiber orientation

    I made a mesh in GMSH and imported to the FEBio which is shown here:

    I want to use the von-mises fiber model. My question is about how to define the fiber orientation to the center. To be more specific, if we look at the cross section of the geometry, the below figure shows how I want to define the fiber orientation:

    I added these lines to the feb file under material section:

    <fiber type="vector">0,1,0</fiber>
    <mat_axis type="local">4,1,3</mat_axis>

    But I do not think the fiber directions have been defined correctly based on the above figure. Could you please help me with this to define the fiber direction? I have attached my feb file.

    Hi,

    Please check out the user manual section 4.1.1.1 on specifying fiber orientation. Based on your description, I think the "cylindrical" option is your best choice.
