    FEWarp 3D Strain Data Export

    Hello,
I have run FEWarp on a stack of images to get 3d stress data on my imagestack. I have then successfully exported the data out of postview and into its own text file. I am now trying to input this data into Matlab which I have also successfully done. My problem is reading the data in the exported file. My stress data file has a total of 140,000 elements and is in the mat3fs format for each element. There are a total of 14 states. How do I read the actual data? How does the mat3fs format work? I understand that there is 6 values for each state of each element but how is this data actually ordered?

    Please let me know.
    Thanks I appreciate your help,

    Hi Skyler,

A mat3fs is a symmetric second order matrix that is stored as: xx, yy, zz, xy, yz, xz.
I suggest to create a smaller problem (only a handful of elements) that you can use to test your matlab code. That would make it easier to understand the organization of the data in the text file.

    Cheers,
