why doesn't Preview support element type=FC3D4 from abaqus?

    greetings all

as the title says I have a problem importing my model from Abaqus. The elements are tetrahedral and of the type=FC3D4. As i see from this link http://http://help.mrl.sci.utah.edu/help/index.jsp?topic=%2Fedu.utah.mrl.help.preview_um_1. 12%2Fhtml%2FA.html. we can only import abaqus files that their elements are supported in the list mentioned in the link. My problem is I can't use any of those elements since they are used for everything other than Fluid-continuum... I'm kinda restricted now. I would appreciate any help.

    sincerely,

    Atabak

I mean why doesn't Preview support a Fluid-continuum element from Abaqus? I'm importing this from Abaqus since I want to import the Fsi model...

      Hi Atabak,

We can definitely look into adding support for that element in PreView. In the mean time, can you please try replacing "FC3D4" with "C3D4" in the text file and see if PreView can read the file then?

      Cheers,

        Dear steve

I did as you said, and it worked. I just have one question now. Does this element work as the Fluid-continuum element in Abaqus? Or i should worry about something?

        sincerely,

          Hi Atabak,

If you are asking if FEBio supports fluid-solid interaction, then the answer is no. Although this is something we will start working on soon, it probably won't be available for a considerable time.

          Cheers,
