    tension compression contact conditions

I had a question about the tension-compression contact between a deformable and rigid body. Is the rigid body assumed to be frictionless? Is there any way to add a friction coefficient to model a rougher rigid surface? I am thinking about simulations of testing materials where we assume the loading platens to be rigid compared to the test sample.

    Hi Scott,

Yes, currently the tension-compression contact only models frictionless contact (whether deformable-on-deformable or deformable-on-rigid). We have recently implemented a robust frictional contact interface, I expect it will be released in six months or so. If you would like to try a development version please let us know.

    Best,

    Gerard
