    Default Fung material model coefficients

    Hello

I obtained the coefficients of a Fung model from experimental data and transformed the material model parameters into the input type required by Preview (in terms of E, G and nu). Some of these parameters (especially E) turns out to be negative in some cases. Does that go against what is physically meaningful? If not, how can it be interpreted?

P.S: I have corrected for convexity conditions

    Thanks

    Hi Mirunalini,

Indeed, neither E nor G can be negative in a Fung model (or any other orthotropic material). This means that you need to re-examine the experimental data and/or you conversion calculations.

    Best,

    Gerard
