Dear FEBio Developer,

I hope you are doing well. I am encountering an issue while running a simulation in FEBio 2.8.1. The following error messages appear:

Error: Max nr. of reformations reached.
Warning: Problem is diverging. Stiffness matrix will now be reformed.

Could you please provide guidance on how to resolve this issue? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Nicole,

Given the size of the model, it's hard to reproduce this issue and so it's difficult to say what is going on. What the error indicates is that the model is not converging, but that can be due to a large number of factors. One possible strategy to debug this, is to simplify the model as much as possible (i.e. turn off contacts and certain boundary conditions, without compromising the stability). Once you have a simpler model that runs, you can add the components you turned off one by one back and see at what point the model begins to struggle. Hope this helps!
