Autosmooth

Hi All,
I have been playing with the Autosmooth function in 1.12.0. It appears to improve the edges between materials. However, if you export and then reimport the feb it just defaults back to the pre-autosmoothed version? Its as if the changes created by the autosmooth function are not saved in the Feb. Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

Hi Nathan,

The auto-smooth feature only affects the rendering of the mesh. It does not actually change the mesh itself. It simply decides based on an angle criterion where the hard edges are in the mesh and which facets to draw smoothed. Hope that explains it.
