    Defining Node Coordinates

Hi, i am trying to create .feb files without going through preview. I have some confusion over how the coordinates of nodes are defined. I understand that in preview, the nodes are created with the origin (0,0) coinciding with the center of the mesh. However, i have defined mine to be the corner point of the mesh (as per the normal convention of any graph or plots). Will this affect my results obtained in postview?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

It will not. Although PreView creates meshes centered around the origin, the location of the mesh does not affect the results.

I see. So the orientation of the mesh will essentially be the same no matter how i define it? I am asking about this because my results' orientation seemed to be flipped (x and y coordinates are flipped) or at least i will like to think they are flipped. So as long as the mesh appears right in postview, my x and y coordinates for both the nodes (which affects the elements) should be correct right?

Thanks a lot for the help, steve! Appreciate it!

      Cheers,
      William

        Hi William,

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. Can you upload some images that clarifies your issues. Or even better, can you send me a model file so that I can reproduce your findings?

        Thanks,

        Steve.

          Hi Steve,

The limit for files to be attached to this forum is 1mb, however the .feb file that i created is bigger than that. Is there any other methods i can send the file to you?

          William
