Steady-State Flow Over Backward Facing Step

This example, BackwardStepV3SS.feb.zip, illustrates a steady-state analysis for flow over a backward facing step (Zienkiewicz, O. C., Taylor, R. L., and Nithiarasu, P., 2014, The Finite Element Method for Fluid Dynamics, 7th ed., Butterworth-Heinemann, Oxford, UK.), using a velocity profile at the inlet obtained from experimental data (Denham, M.K. and Patrick, M.A., 1974. Laminar flow over a downstream-facing step in a two-dimensional flow channel. Trans. Inst. Chem. Engrs, 52(4), pp.361-367.)

The basic features of this model are (1) the steady-state nature of the analysis, and (2) the use of a mathematical expression (a polynomial) for prescribing the experimentally-based inlet velocity. The mesh used for this analysis is uniform.
