Rigid joints.

Hello,
I have a question regarding the rigid joints this time. I have a rigid joint specified between the Tarsal and MetaTarsal bones in my 2D Foot model. When the model runs, the Tarsal penetrates into the MetaTarsal even with a small angular displacement boundary condition. This happenes even without the rigid joint specification. Is there a way to stop one bone from penetrating into another bone and can u help me understand if the rigid joint is having any effect on the model?
